Ambassador for Green Drive
On 7th September 2014 Green Drive's Adam Smith presented his research at Golf Science: A World Scientific Congress of Golf which was held on the Gold Coast, Australia from 5-7 September.
This prestigious event is held every two years and is the first time it has been held outside of St Andrews or Phoenix.
The congress attracts the world's leading experts in golf research, strength and conditioning, biomechanics, golf health and coaching who come together to discuss all aspects of golf science.
There is extremely strong competition to have a paper accepted for such a recognised event, so to be asked to complete a podium presentation on his research was an incredible achievement for Adam.
Adam's presentation to delegates from around the world was on 'The Impact of Warm Up Routines on Golf Performance - Pulse raiser v Non pulse raiser'. This was very well received with numerous delegates showing an interest in Adam's research, his association with Myerscough College (where the research was completed), and of course where he plays golf!
Adam is looking to continue his research on warm up routines, particularly with the over 50s. So watch out members as he will be recruiting for volunteers very soon!

This visitor had a hole in one on our 13th hole on Friday the 13th June 2014.
His name is Brent Pilgrim from Humber Valley Golf Corner Brook, Newfoundland, Canada
We are situated on the beautiful Fylde Coast in the lovely resort of Lytham in the North West of England.
We are part of England's famous "Golf Coast" which has 20 of the most acclaimed golf courses in the country.
Our club, founded in 1913, is an easy walking pleasant 'Parkland Course' with no strenuous hills, although buggies and pull trolleys are available for hire if needed. The course is ideal for all handicaps as it is particularly testing with rewards for the more venturous player but has allowances for shots by those of less ability.
Our Half-Way House is always stocked with a range of hot & cold refreshments and quick snacks to prepare you for the tougher back nine.
'Green Drive' has a reputation as probably the friendliest and most sociable golf club on the Fylde.
This reputation is gained over many years by feedback from visitors and guests alike.
You can be assured that a warm welcome and friendly atmosphere awaits you before and after the perfect round of golf
